Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Echocardiographer to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound procedures and support cardiology attending during stress echocardiogram and TEE. You will handle data entry, patient care, and equipment maintenance with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

The role requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, solid communication skills, and proficiency with cardiovascular information systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography.
• One year of clinical echocardiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms including 2-D, 3-D as applicable, strain, M-Mode, color flow imaging and Doppler studies.
• Recognizes need for contrast imaging and administers per protocol.
• Document measurements in Cardiovascular Information Systems for physician review.
• Obtain patient history and perform procedures as ordered.
• Assist patients onto/off bed and notify supervisor of critical findings.
• Acquire and store echo studies for physician interpretation.
• Transport equipment to patient rooms for bedside studies as needed.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment; report issues and stock needs.
• Follow probe maintenance and sterile processing policies (e.g., TEE).
• Complete EPIC workflow and related billing processes.
