Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or higher a plus.
• Experience with medical billing, insurance authorization, or similar role preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and benefits for scheduled procedures with various carriers.
• Obtain prior authorization from insurance companies for services, prescriptions, or treatments.
• Gather medical documentation from referring physicians and staff to support requests.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, insurers, and facility staff.
• Enter information into the practice management system and maintain authorization records.
• Follow up on pending authorizations, resolve issues, and address denials/appeals.
• Explain coverage, authorization status, and potential patient financial responsibilities.
