Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners is seeking a Prec ertification Coordinator to support our U.S. operations remotely from Columbus, OH.

You will manage authorizations with third parties, verify eligibility, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients while ensuring compliance with the No Surprises Act. You will coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, and insurers to obtain authorizations, explain patient financials, and maintain accurate contact files.

Qualifications

  • Two years of precertification experience in a medical practice or medical organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Benefits or claims processing experience and electronic medical records experience.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates authorizations and benefits with third parties for visits, procedures, surgeries, medications, imaging, lab and any other treatments that are ordered.
  • Verifies eligibility and requests authorizations for various medical orders.
  • Calculates, communicates with patients and collects co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, previous balances or other money owed.
  • Maintains files for contacts and phone numbers for third party communication.
  • Prepares and sends Good Faith Estimates to self pay patients in accordance with the No Surprises Act.
  • Handles problem referrals with third party and coordinates solution with clinical unit, patient and referral provider.
  • Coordinating with physician, clinical staff, insurances, and patients to obtain the authorization.
