Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Coordinates with departmental and clinical staff to ensure coverage and reimbursement for specialty pharmacy services, including complex and high-dollar prior authorization support, copay assistance, and patient assistance services. Responsible for timely data entry and communication to facilitate prompt and affordable medication receipt.

Responsibilities
  1. Expedite patient access to specialty medications by coordinating with provider offices, payors, and clinical teams to complete prior authorizations using medical record analysis and benefit investigations.
  2. Document all authorizations accurately in the patient record, including expiration dates, appeals, and follow-up requirements.
  3. Verify existing pre-certifications and insurance eligibility.
  4. Collaborate with case management, payors, and manufacturer assistance programs to support medication access when affordability is an issue.
  5. Assist providers with prior authorization appeals and advise patients on pharmacy networks and alternative options.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
