Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, inspecting for PCI and DOT programs. The role involves reviewing mix designs, strength records, and maintaining QC records while supervising Level I inspectors.

The ideal candidate holds a PCI Level II certification with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant, and may have an ACI Strength Testing Technician certification.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be on active jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
• Assign daily coverage and review inspectors’ records.
