Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, and to serve as the owner/agency inspector on DOT and structural precast projects. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs, and maintain PCI/DOT records.

The role requires PCI Level II certification with 2+ years in a certified plant, knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117, and DOT specifications. Travel to multiple plants is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification is required and must be current.
• 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI/DOT certification and owner acceptance programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
