Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and ensure finished pieces meet specifications before shipment.

Certification as PCI Level I or ACI Grade I with plant experience is required, with travel between plants and per diem as assigned.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Comfort with early production schedules and plant hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects.
