Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, checking forms and reinforcement before pours, verifying strand tensioning records, and running fresh concrete tests.

You will inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects prior to shipment with PCI Level I or ACI Grade I certification required or pursued, and early production schedules.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or equivalent (ACI Grade I)
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform tensioning calculations
• Comfort with early production schedules and plant hours
• Accurate, honest data recording and QC mindset

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record against required values
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects and tag for shipment or repair
