Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms and reinforcement, verify strand tensioning, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I QC Certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience. Expect early production hours and travel between plants on project assignments. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I Quality Control Certification or ACI Grade I with precast or prestressed plant experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings and perform tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to work early production schedule and plant hours.
• Demonstrated consistency and honesty with measurement data.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength tests and record against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
