Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to oversee plant QC for precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms and reinforcement against shop drawings before pours, verify strand tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and ensure finished parts meet specifications before shipment.

PCI Level I certification or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience is required or must be earned soon.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with 1+ year in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willing to work early production schedules.
• Honest with numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
