Job summary

County Materials Family of Companies seeks a Project Checker (Precast Concrete) in Westmont, IL. You will review erection drawings and production documents to ensure alignment with contracts and schedules. You’ll collaborate with project teams to identify discrepancies early and help keep fabrication and installation on track.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in precast drafting or checking, and experience with AutoCAD or Revit. Strong attention to detail and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in precast concrete drafting, detailing, or checking.
• Experience using AutoCAD or Revit (Autodesk certification preferred).
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of construction documents and precast systems.
• Knowledge of LecWall systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of precast concrete detailing and production drawings
• Review contracts, estimates, drawings, specifications, and addenda to confirm project scope
• Verify erection drawings and piece tickets for accuracy, completeness, and approvals
• Identify opportunities to improve constructability and reduce project costs
• Compare drawings to bid estimates and flag material or quantity discrepancies
• Ensure piece drawings are released at least two days prior to scheduled production
• Confirm embed plates and loose materials are fully detailed and released before fabrication
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Coordinators, Engineers, and Schedulers to meet timelines
• Accurately interpret construction documents and contracts
• Verify dimensions, scope, and details in drawings prepared by internal teams or consultants
• Collaborate throughout the drawing development process to resolve issues efficiently
• Maintain positive working relationships with engineers, architects, and contractors
