Position Title:

Precast Plant Engineer

Company Overview

At Austin Prestress Company, we are a well-established and growing manufacturing company providing precast concrete products to heavy highway contractors throughout Texas. Our team includes both office staff and a field workforce supporting daily operations.

General Description of Position:

Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the Precast Plant Engineer is responsible for daily tasks such as scheduling deliveries, casting sequence, shop drawing reviews, material expediting and routine, on-site project administration. Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply; training and day-to-day guidance are provided.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Scheduling:
  • Must be able to assist in the development of daily casting schedules.
  • Solicit third party trucking services for outgoing product deliveries.
  • Must be able to schedule incoming material deliveries.
Engineering:
  • Ability to do quality reviews of shop drawings and submittals
  • Must be able to learn and understand product specification standards
  • Ensures conformance to the Quality Control Plan and standard specifications
Project Administration:
  • Must have organization skills to be able to maintain detailed job files
  • Utilize the company’s inventory and management software
  • Review and approve timecards
  • Review and reconcile weekly production reports
  • Some invoice review and approval may be required
Safety Policies and Practices:

Become knowledgeable with the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in
Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management, Construction Science or similar Degree.

Other Requirements:

Must have a current valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record. Some driving may be required.
