County Materials Family of Companies in Westmont, IL is seeking a Design Engineer (Precast Concrete) to join County Prestress. This role supports projects from initial design through fabrication and erection, focusing on design calculations, shop drawings, and code-compliant design.

You will collaborate with sales, project management and production teams, ensuring accurate drawings and timely project delivery, while mentoring junior engineers and improving design tools and processes in precast

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Licensed or ability to obtain Illinois SE licensure.
• Minimum 1 year of precast design or structural design experience.
• Experience with precast or prestressed concrete systems.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design structural frames, precast components and connections for buildings.
• Prepare, review and seal structural calculations and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with ACI, PCI, IBC and local codes.
• Coordinate with project managers and production teams for accurate drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and review work of designers and consultants.
• Develop or improve engineering tools, software and calculation methods.
