Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, inspecting forms, reinforcement, and strand tensioning records before pours, and verifying concrete test results.

You will cast and cure cylinders, inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects, and ensure compliance with PCI and ACI certification requirements; travel to multiple plants may be required with per diem.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or equivalent; ACI Grade I with 1+ years in a precast or prestressed plant.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations to verify values.
• Comfortable with plant hours and early production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31; record results.
