Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms and reinforcement before pours, verify strand tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Field Testing Grade I certification with plant experience, with travel between plants on a project basis.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations
• Comfort with plant hours and early production schedule
• Consistent, careful, and honest with the numbers

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects and tag for shipment or repair
