USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is seeking a part-time RN Preadmission Testing Nurse to support preoperative screening, patient education, and post-procedure follow-up. Under Clinical Coordinator supervision, you will ensure safety, patient rights, and high-quality perioperative care.

Required BSN, Arizona nursing license, BLS/ACLS, and 2 years hospital experience. Strong communication, organization, and adaptability are essential as we support musculoskeletal surgery services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of two (2) years’ recent hospital experience.
• Current Arizona Nursing License.
• Current BLS and ACLS required.
• Excellent communication skills and strong organizational habits.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly; solid knowledge of surgical procedures and perioperative care.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and care for adult to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct perioperative phone screening and preadmission assessment.
• Make preadmission calls to provide arrival time and surgical instructions.
• Coordinate patient care with nursing staff to meet safety and quality standards.
• Perform preadmission teaching and patient education.
• Call patients 24–48 hours post-procedure for follow-up, if applicable.
• Collaborate with nursing units and track issues with action plans.

JOB TITLE:

• Under the direct supervision of Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for prescribing, delegating and coordinating patient care.
• Accountable that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations, provides education for patients and collaborates with other disciplines.
• Conducts Perioperative Phone Screening of pre-operative surgical patients and makes pre-operative calls to provide arrival time and instructions to patients going for surgery.
• Responsible for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, TJC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. PAT RN may assume the following PAT responsibilities: contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching.
• Call patients (24-48 hours after procedures- post op calls).
• Will work very closely with the Nursing units. Track issues that are trending from calls and need to make sure we have action plans with follow up to report.
