Job summary

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech for full-time, on-site work. You will assist surgical inpatients with daily living activities under RN supervision and perform basic nursing tasks in a non-acute setting.

The role requires CNA experience, a valid CNA license, and CPR certification, with duties extending to vital signs, personal care and patient safety in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Previous CNA experience preferred.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Ability to take vital signs and provide personal care.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical inpatients with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Support Pre-Op/PACU with general duties as needed.
• Provide basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients.
• Maintain safety, infection control and aseptic technique.
• Assist with mobility and transfers, venipuncture or EKG if trained.

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is Hiring a Patient Care Tech Full Time!

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond. The Patient Care Tech is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Job Summary:

• Responsible for helping our surgical patients through their inpatient stay, providing basic care needs, under the direction of a RN.
• Other general duties as needed by the Manager of the Pre-Op/PACU.
• Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
• Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
• Patient Interviewing skills
• Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
• Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
• Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
