Job Description

The Innovative Preaching Lab is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Lab Manager to oversee operations and production within our Preaching and Innovation Lab. This role focuses on enhancing ministry efforts and supporting our Compelling Preaching cohort, team members, clients, and guests. The Lab Manager will manage audio/visual production, coordinate scheduling, and provide hands-on training to participants and visitors. This position requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise to design and execute media projects that elevate preaching and ministry initiatives. The Lab is part of our broader Compelling Preaching Initiative grant program.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in video production, sound engineering, photography, web design, social media marketing, and media editing.
  • Proven experience with live-streaming, video editing, and social media content creation and marketing.
  • Preferred: experience in ministry or related environments.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop); familiar with FCPX, ProPresenter, Easy Worship, VMix, Wirecast.
  • Strong experience with Apple and Blackmagic products, professional sound systems (e.g., Behringer X32, TASCAM, PreSonus).
  • Proficiency with professional-grade cameras (4K, DSLRs such as Panasonic, Canon, Sony).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware and software, with a background in media production systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Communications, Theology, or related field, or extensive equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: theological training or ministry background.
Essential Functions
Audio/Visual Production
  • Manage and execute high-quality video production, photography, and live-streaming, ensuring technical standards are met.
  • Perform editing, sound engineering, and post-production tasks using professional software.
  • Set up and troubleshoot live-streaming services for events.
Technical Troubleshooting & Maintenance
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues promptly.
  • Maintain and coordinate maintenance for lab equipment.
  • Recommend upgrades to improve lab technology.
Media Content Creation
  • Collaborate to develop impactful media content for social media and lab events.
  • Design and execute media projects that meet participant goals, utilizing lighting, sound, and composition.
  • Create marketing assets and grow the lab’s social media presence.
Project Management
  • Manage lab scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Balance technical and creative aspects to meet deadlines and program goals.
Customer Service & Collaboration
  • Assist preachers, students, and guests in utilizing lab resources.
  • Provide guidance to enhance their technical skills and project outcomes.
  • Follow supervisor guidance and adhere to policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and punctuality.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
