Job summary

Harnett County is seeking a Pretrial Release Officer to interview inmates and coordinate with attorneys and judicial officials to arrange eligible pre-trial release. The role includes screening inmates, performing assessments, and monitoring release through visits and electronic house arrest equipment.

You will maintain confidential records, prepare reports and statistics, communicate program information, and refer clients to community resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of work experience in the criminal justice field.
• Or equivalent education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Interview and screen defendants for pre-trial release eligibility.
• Conduct criminal background investigations using NCIC and other sources.
• Prepare and present paperwork to the District Attorney for approval and to judicial officials.
• Monitor released defendants under special court-ordered conditions.
• Maintain confidential records and prepare program reports.
