Looking for Assistant and Lead Teachers for Pre-School:

Job Summary: Responsible for the overall organization and learning environment of the classroom; plans or assists in the planning of daily lessons; ensures the health and safety of children; follows health and safety protocols; communicates with parents and maintains positive relationships with parents and staff. This position requires a passion for education and a love for working with young children. The Teacher Assistant must be open-minded and capable of implementing strategies that foster thinking and development.

• Works with staff and trainees to meet program philosophy, values, and standards, including regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with the teacher's assistant weekly to plan lessons aligned with the curriculum that promote children's development across multiple domains.
• Teaches through social experiences, classroom activities, and support materials that support program objectives and manage children’s behavior positively.
• Prepares portfolios for each child to share progress with parents at the end of the year.
• Prevents disruptive behaviors through environmental design, schedules, and engaging activities.
• Encourages positive self-image and independence, using reinforcement and non-punitive discipline techniques.
• Prepares and delivers reports related to attendance, development, and incident documentation.
• Adapts to changing conditions to enhance program quality and ensures health and safety hazards are addressed. Prepares and serves meals/snacks.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts: 7:45 am - 4:45 pm, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 8:15 am - 5:15 pm, 8:30 am - 5:45 pm
• Monday to Friday

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's in Early Childhood or related field (preferred)

Experience: 3+ years in Early Childhood Education (preferred)

Licenses/Certifications:

• VPK Endorsement from DCF (required)
• CPR / First Aid Certification (preferred)
• DCF 45 childcare hours certification (preferred; assistance available)

Salary: $35,000 - $45,000
