Job summary

CGP Data Center and Cloud Solutions in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Presale Mechanical Engineer to lead technical design, sales support and project execution for mission-critical data center systems. You will engage with clients, translate requirements into robust mechanical solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful proposals and deliveries.

The role requires deep knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, and associated data center infrastructure, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical mechanical infrastructure and mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of data center facility operations and mechanical distribution.
• Familiar with ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Excellent technical writing for documentation, proposals, and project specifications.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through execution, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical guidance for the design and implementation of mission-critical mechanical systems.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Presale Mechanical Engineer - Data Center Mechanical Systems leads technical design, sales support, and project execution for mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role requires experience with chillers, cooling towers, fan walls, air handling units (AHUs), and mission-critical cooling solutions, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. The position combines technical proficiency, project management expertise, and client-facing engagement to support seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.

Education/Experience

• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical mechanical infrastructure and mechanical design.
• Extensive expertise in mission-critical mechanical systems, specifications, and deployment.
• Strong understanding of data center facility operations and mechanical distribution.
• Familiar with ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines
• Advanced technical writing skills for documentation, proposals, and project specifications.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through execution, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Comfortable communicating at all organizational levels, from field operations to C-suite executives.
• Experience with Vertiv, Stulz, York, Daikin, and other leading mechanical providers preferred.
• Prior experience managing large enterprise accounts within the data center industry preferred.
• Familiarity with commissioning procedures for mission-critical facilities preferred.
• Strong project management and business development skills.
