Base pay range

$170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Pryon is seeking an experienced and talented Pre-Sales Engineer to work directly with sales teams to engage US Government agencies, guiding strategy, demonstrations, competitive positioning, and moving prospects through evaluation, POC, contracting, and deployment phases. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, capable of managing multiple opportunities, and skilled at building strong technical relationships across client opportunities from qualification to collaboration with the solutions team.

Candidates must have experience selling AI/ML or NLP products within the Federal or US Government space, including navigating federal processes such as ATO and JAB, working through partners and primes, and understanding security requirements like NIST. Strong communication skills and technical acumen are essential, with knowledge of knowledge management markets, AI, and ML principles being advantageous. The role requires a proactive work ethic, agility, and the ability to perform under pressure.

In This Role, You Will
  • Ensure technical qualification of prospects and client use cases align with product capabilities, supporting trial scoping and transition to deployment.
  • Develop and manage domain-specific demonstrations to generate interest and expand client usage of Pryon.
  • Achieve product mastery within 30 days, focusing on customer profiles, technical qualifications, and opportunity readiness.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering to improve operations and meet revenue targets.
  • Contribute to presentation methods, proof of concept frameworks, and value assessments for clients.
  • Engage with clients to define success criteria, best practices, and implementation strategies for knowledge management and related solutions.
  • Document and enhance business and technical processes impacted by Pryon products.
  • Create solutions, ROI analyses, and case studies, including use cases, activity diagrams, and architecture documentation.
  • Build and evaluate business cases to support product investments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and support teams to deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Work with marketing, sales, and support teams to promote product features through training, documentation, and demonstrations.
What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • 5+ years of success selling complex enterprise software to the US Government, especially IC & DOD sectors.
  • Government-issued security clearances are a plus.
  • Deep technical expertise and industry knowledge aligned with federal government groups.
  • At least 5 years of pre-sales experience creating demos, presenting, and managing opportunities through the technical qualification process.
  • Comfort with startup environments and evolving processes.
  • Experience defining and refining client requirements and success criteria.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, GovCloud, on-premises deployment, and solution positioning.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into tactical plans and results.
  • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial drive and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Strong business, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of technology, software architecture, and SaaS models.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills across multiple functions.
