Job summary

DataVox is seeking an Audio Visual Design Engineer in Houston to partner with Account Managers on pre-sales consultation and solution design for local and regional corporate accounts. You will develop AV solutions, budgets, BOMs, and proposals based on client requirements, and present technical recommendations to stakeholders.

The role requires 2–5+ years in AV system design, strong customer-facing and presentation skills, and experience supporting consultative technology sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2 to 5+ years’ experience with Audio Visual system design.
• Strong customer-facing and presentation skills.
• Experience supporting consultative technology sales.
• Experience developing AV budgets, BOMs, and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Support account managers during customer discovery meetings, site surveys, and presentations.
• Develop AV solutions, budgets, BOMs, and technical proposals based on customer requirements.
• Present technical solutions and recommendations to customers, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Conceptualize audio visual system designs and determine system requirements.
• Assist with proposal development, scope creation, and technical responses to customer requests.
• Identify technical risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
• Work directly with clients and project team to develop budgets, timelines, and managing expectations.
• Coordinate project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams.
• Work closely with the DataVox sales team, operations team, other design engineers, and manufacturers.
• Maintain expertise on emerging AV, UC, collaboration, and workplace technologies.
• Maintain professional work appearance and outstanding customer interaction.
