Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Pre Press Department Manager to lead all pre-press operations, including Cylinder Technicians and Setup Technicians, ensuring safe, efficient production and high quality. You’ll drive continuous improvement, plan resources, and meet customer specifications.

You will supervise shifts, review staffing and performance, partner with HR on disciplinary processes, and champion safety, training, and waste reduction across the department.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or work-related training relative to a production manager position.
• 3–5 years in a production supervision role or 10 years in roto gravure production environment.
• Strong computer literacy with Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, etc.).
• Ability to lead and direct personnel and troubleshoot equipment problems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager with production planning and operation.
• Manage 24-hour operations to ensure shifts have qualified personnel.
• Review employee time daily and approve weekly payroll in UKG.
• Ensure pre press staff have annual performance reviews and coaching as needed.
• Work with HR on disciplinary processes as necessary.
• Ensure safety, quality, and maintenance training for pre press staff.
• Communicate with vendors to ensure proper parts and quantities.
• Apply safety rules and safe manufacturing practices.
• Support Quality initiatives from customer specifications and feedback.
• Direct continuous improvement initiatives using the Global Performance System.
• Manage the Failure Analysis process and monitor waste KPI’s daily.
• Support GPS through team leadership and Ei3 process for the facility.
