Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in November 2019. We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our learning and growing team.

Position Highlights
  • $7,500 Sign-On Bonus eligible*
  • Day Shift, Part Time
    • (3) 9-hour shifts from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Critical Care or GI experience preferred
  • Crosstrained in Pre/Post and Procedure

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital | Creve Coeur, MO

The Endoscopy Department at BJWCH includes preop, procedure, and recovery areas. Nurses assist in preparing and recovering patients, collaborating with physicians and anesthesia providers. Skills include monitoring vital signs, airway and pain management, and recognizing escalation needs. Educating patients pre- and post-procedure is vital for safety and experience.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in a patient-centered environment. With 64 private rooms, 14 operating rooms, and 4 ICU rooms, the facility emphasizes comfort, innovation, and efficiency. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and walking paths connecting to Millennium Park.

The Endoscopy department is a full-service unit meeting inpatient and outpatient needs, specializing in procedures like EGD, Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, and others. The team includes NPs, RNs, and technicians overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance. Engages in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the team, patients, and families, ensuring communication across care continuum.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers to involvement.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; alertness and safety are essential.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree in Nursing

Experience: No experience required

Licenses & Certifications: RN license

Preferred Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience: Less than 2 years
