Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art facility that opened in November 2019. We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our learning and growing team.

Position Highlights
  • $7,500 Sign-On Bonus eligible*
  • Day Shift, Part Time
    • Three 9-hour shifts from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Critical Care or GI experience preferred
  • Crosstrained in Pre/Post and Procedure

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital | Creve Coeur, MO

The Endoscopy Department at BJWCH includes pre-op, procedure, and recovery areas. Nurses assist in preparing and recovering patients for procedures, collaborating with physicians and anesthesia providers. Skills include monitoring vital signs, airway and pain management, and recognizing escalation needs. Patient education before and after procedures is vital for safety and experience.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in a comfortable environment. With 64 private rooms, 14 operating rooms, and 4 ICU rooms, the facility emphasizes patient-centered, innovative care. The campus features a park-like setting with walking paths connecting to Millennium Park.

The Endoscopy department is a full-service unit meeting inpatient and outpatient needs, specializing in procedures like EGD, Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Small Bowel Enteroscopy, and Video Capsule Endoscopy. The team includes NPs, RNs, and technicians overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Promote patient and family-centered care, educate on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance. Engage in professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document care plans with goals, collaborating with the care team and patient/family, ensuring communication across care continuum.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs using critical nursing skills, considering patient preferences and barriers.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work alertly and safely is essential.
Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
