Job summary

International Motors USA in Tulsa is seeking a mechanically skilled assembler to join our team. You will assemble, disassemble, fit and fasten large components, prepare surfaces for paint, and use specialized tools while following technical specifications.

The role is safety sensitive and involves power tools, vehicles, and potentially hazardous materials. Candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assembles/disassemble and fastens parts using tools according to specifications
  • Ensure material integrity via routine inspection and quality processes
  • Assemble/disassemble small parts requiring precision alignment
  • Prepare weld areas for proper weld penetration and structural integrity
  • Identify defects and maintain equipment
  • Collaborate with peers to complete projects
  • Participate in group discussions and meetings
  • Perform product and process checks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Overview

In this role, you will perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, fitting, and fastening of large-scale components and equipment in accordance with technical specifications. Your responsibilities include utilizing specialized tools to connect parts, as well as preparing component surfaces for high-quality paint application. This position is safety sensitive and may involve the operation of vehicles, operation of equipment, and/or involve work with power tools, or handling of hazardous materials, that could result in injury or damage to person/property/manufacturing process.

Schedule:

Monday through Thursday 5:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Assembles/disassemble and fasten / unfasten parts using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications.
  • Assure material integrity by routine inspection by following established procedures and quality processes and specifications
  • Assemble / disassemble small parts requiring precision alignment and small tolerances
  • Prepares weld area appropriately to result in good weld penetration and meets structural integrity criteria
  • Identify defects
  • Maintain their equipment
  • Collaborates with peers to accomplish projects or tasks
  • Participates in group discussions and meetings
  • Perform checks on product and process
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.   • Ability to correctly prepare paint areas and use related equipment
  • Ability to repair and paint defects
  • Ability to perform painting in hard to reach and awkward positions
  • Ability to stand, crouch, climb 10 hours per day (in addition to overtime) in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment with intermittent noise, fumes, solvents and paints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and work around moving vehicle, on ladders and scaffolding, below ground level, with vibratory tools
  • This position is safety sensitive and may involve the operation of vehicles, operation of equipment, and/or involve work with power tools, or handling of hazardous materials, that could result in injury or damage to person/property/manufacturing process
Desired Skills
  • Experience with body repair
  • At least a year of automotive hands on experience
  • At least 3 months of automotive painting workAbility to achieve high performance goals with changing work directions
  • Good mechanical aptitude
