The Vehicle Buying Center Agent at Oakes Auto Group sources and purchases quality pre-owned vehicles directly from customers to support our inventory needs. You will actively search for vehicles and manage the acquisition process from initial contact through paperwork and pickup.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to complete a standard background check.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple leads and transactions simultaneously.
• Automotive sales, vehicle purchasing, or used-car experience preferred.
• Familiarity with vehicle values and used-vehicle market pricing preferred.
• Ability to communicate with customers and private sellers by phone, text, email, and online marketplaces.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase vehicles directly from customers looking to sell outside of a trade-in.
• Build rapport with customers, present offers, negotiate terms, and close acquisitions that fit inventory needs.
• Respond to inbound purchase request leads from AccuTrade and other digital channels with urgency and follow-up.
• Proactively source vehicles through Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, private-party listings, and other marketplaces.
• Evaluate potential purchases based on condition, ACV, market position, inventory, and acquisition strategy.
• Coordinate vehicle pickup, transportation, titles, bills of sale, and paperwork.
• Ensure vehicles and documentation are prepared before transfer into inventory.
• Maintain records of leads, offers, follow-up, and completed purchases.
• Stay aligned with inventory needs, sales trends, and acquisition priorities.
• Communicate sourcing opportunities and market changes that impact inventory.
