Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) unit for a PRN, first-shift role. This critical unit prepares patients for surgery, coordinating assessments, planning care, and ensuring safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, care planning, supervision of team members, and on-call duties on weekends/holidays by rotation.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Kentucky is required.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing is required.
• BLS certification is required; if not current, obtain within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class training are required by department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs and develop a care plan.
• Provide direct patient care in the Pre-Op unit.
• Manage delivery of patient care and supervision of staff as needed.
• Demonstrate leadership and support quality care.
• Maintain patient relations and healing environment.
• Participate in on-call weekends/holidays by rotation.
• Care for patients before, during and after surgery in OR setting.
• Apply clinical judgment across all phases of the nursing process.
