Job summary

USPI New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics is hiring a RN Pre OP PACU PRN to join our outpatient surgical team in Albuquerque. Provide preoperative assessment, patient education, and perioperative nursing care in a busy ambulatory setting.

No weekends, no call, paid holidays; opportunities to collaborate with anesthesia and surgical staff while maintaining patient comfort and safety in the Pre-Operative and PACU areas.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• One year experience in intra-operative or perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients in Pre-Op.
• Provides care within nursing standards and center policies.
• Assesses physical and emotional status prior to admission.
• Provides pre-operative instruction and patient rights explanations.
• Obtains patient records prior to Pre-Operative testing.
• Performs Pre-Operative testing (lab work, ECG, x-rays).
• Communicates abnormal values to anesthesiologist/surgeon.
• Documents Pre-Operative care per policy.
• Ensures chart completeness prior to surgery.
• Ensures patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
