Job summary

Holy Cross Hospital - Salt Lake City is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care in a high-acuity surgical unit. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient patient transitions from Pre‑op through PACU, with emphasis on communication and patient-centered care.

The role requires an active RN license, an associate degree in nursing, and strong teamwork skills.

Qualifications

RN license in state of employment.
Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma/endorsement required.
Ability to lift and assist patients, up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs; evaluate and intervene for optimal outcomes.
Develop and implement patient care plans with interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrate competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, specimen collection.
Maintain patient charts accurately; document status, interventions, and outcomes; use IT for communication and decision support.
Protect patient health, safety, and rights; advocate for patients.
Provide patient/family education; assess learning readiness and effectiveness.
