Job summary

Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital in Ohio Valley region is seeking a Pre-Op Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care by assessing, planning, coordinating, and participating in the patient care plan, in line with the physician’s plan and organizational standards. The role requires accurate documentation, equipment and supplies handling, and ongoing professional development.

BLS is required; ACLS/PALS are preferred, and one year of hospital RN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing license in Ohio.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• Minimum one year of previous hospital RN experience preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and participate in patient care per physician's plan and organizational policies.
• Adhere to hospital policies to ensure quality and safety in care.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and personnel.
• Develop and implement care methods aligned with the hospital program.
• Ensure accurate, concise documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Operate and maintain nursing equipment and supplies safely.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities and participate in new employee orientation.
• Complete mandatory classes and licensure CE requirements.
• Communicate courteously with patients, physicians, coworkers, and the public.
• Report problems promptly to management.
• In the manager's absence, assume responsibilities for the designated area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
