Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in the State of South Carolina.
• ADN, Diploma or BS in Nursing.
• New graduate RNs educated online will not meet LMC minimum qualifications.
• Substitutable Education & Experience: None

Responsibilities

• Establishes positive rapport with patient and family.
• Provides emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
• Promotes patient independence via education on condition, medications and self-care.
• Serves as patient/family advocate.
• Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
• Uses systematic critical-thinking to guide data gathering, assessment and intervention.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Uses ethical decision making to support patient outcomes.
• L&D: RNs with 2+ years in L&D may perform qualified screenings under EMTALA.
