Job summary

River Ridge Surgical Suites is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Pre Op / Post Op Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative team. The RN will provide safe, family-centered care across pre-operative and postoperative phases, following established nursing processes and policies.

The role emphasizes quality patient care, teamwork, and strong communication with physicians and staff. Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, current Virginia nursing license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Virginia Nursing License.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/Post Op/PACU.
• Ambulatory surgical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care from pre-op to post-op.
• Monitor patient status and ensure safe recovery in PACU.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia and staff to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on perioperative care and expectations.
• Maintain aseptic technique and patient safety standards.

Job Summary:

The Pre Op / Post Op Registered Nurse RN is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The Pre Op / Post Op Registered Nurse RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The Pre Op / Post Op Registered Nurse RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Required Skills:

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Virginia Nursing License
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/Post Op/PACU. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Excellent teaching skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
