Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pre-Litigation Case Manager Team Lead based in the United States. The Pre-Litigation Case Manager Team Lead will oversee a team managing personal injury cases from client onboarding through settlement or referral to litigation. This hands-on leadership role combines team development, case oversight, quality control, and client relationship management in a fully remote legal environment. You will ensure cases progress efficiently, medical records and treatment coordination remain on track, and demand packages meet high standards of accuracy and quality. Working closely with attorneys and other legal professionals, you will help guide case valuation, negotiation strategies, and decisions about when litigation is necessary. You will also improve workflows, monitor performance metrics, and strengthen accountability across the team. This is an opportunity for an experienced personal injury professional to shape operations, elevate the client experience, and drive measurable improvements in case outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and supervise the pre-litigation case management team, assigning workloads, balancing capacity, and ensuring cases progress efficiently.
  • Establish clear expectations for client communication, file documentation, case progression, and overall work quality.
  • Train and onboard new case managers, develop training resources, and provide ongoing coaching to strengthen team performance.
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings and performance reviews, address performance concerns promptly, and recommend staffing or hiring adjustments when necessary.
  • Perform routine file audits to identify stalled cases, delayed medical records, gaps in treatment coordination, and other obstacles to case progression.
  • Review demand packages for completeness, accuracy, persuasive presentation, and readiness before submission to attorneys or insurers.
  • Monitor pre‑litigation case aging and cycle times, taking action to prevent unnecessary delays and ensure files meet established progression standards.
  • Identify cases that should transition to litigation and collaborate with attorneys on case valuation, settlement negotiations, and legal strategy.
  • Oversee client satisfaction throughout the pre‑litigation process, stepping in to manage difficult conversations and ensuring timely, consistent communication.
  • Maintain and improve workflows, task templates, and procedures within the case management system to increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Track and report key performance indicators, including caseload volume, case aging, demand turnaround time, settlement outcomes, client communication compliance, and complaint trends.
  • Coordinate seamless case handoffs to litigation teams and settlement coordinators, ensuring documentation is complete and critical details are not missed.
  • Recommend process improvements and technology enhancements based on reporting, operational trends, and team feedback.
  • Evaluate team and operational performance at 90 days, six months, and annually, using measurable outcomes to guide continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of personal injury pre‑litigation case management experience.
  • Previous experience supervising, training, mentoring, or leading a case management team.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records management, treatment coordination, demand package preparation, and bodily injury settlement negotiations.
  • Working knowledge of Louisiana prescription periods and insurance coverage issues.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly in preparing clear, accurate, and persuasive demand letters.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage team performance, provide direct feedback, establish accountability, and address issues proactively.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize competing deadlines, and identify delays before they become significant problems.
  • Sound judgment in evaluating case progression, recognizing negotiation opportunities, and determining when a case may require litigation.
  • A client‑focused approach that balances empathy and responsiveness with the demands of a high‑volume caseload.
  • Comfort using performance reports and data to monitor case movement, evaluate results, and guide operational decisions.
  • Experience working in a Louisiana personal injury law firm is preferred.
  • Experience developing or rebuilding pre‑litigation workflows is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with lien negotiation and Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency with case management platforms, reporting tools, and cloud‑based workflows is beneficial.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Benefits

  • Supplemental critical illness and cancer insurance plans.
  • Life insurance options, including basic life, voluntary life, and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance.
  • Paid time off, including vacation and paid holidays.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
