Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Provisional Lifeguard to support pool safety, cleanliness, and program operations under the supervision of the Swim Director. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, engaging environment for members and families on the pool deck.

Qualified candidates will complete required training and obtain lifeguard certification within 60 days, with CPR/AED/First Aid current. Availability includes days, evenings, and weekends to support programs.

Qualifications

• Willing to obtain Red Cross Lifeguard Certification within 60 days.
• Current CPR/AED/Oxygen/First Aid certification (O2 within 30 days of hire).
• Completion of new hire training including Child Abuse Prevention prior to first scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety for members on the pool deck.
• Assist with safety, cleanliness and operation of the swimming pool during operating hours.
• Coordinate facility usage for assigned programs and activities.
• Encourage member engagement and positive experiences for families and children.
• Communicate YMCA policies and mission to the community.
