Job summary

Ymca Of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee pool safety, enforce rules, and maintain the cleanliness and operation of the facility during hours of operation in Maryland.

Under the supervision of the Swim Director, you will monitor water conditions, perform in-service trainings, and engage participants with a strong focus on safety and customer service, while upholding YMCA four character values.

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or O2 within 30 days of hire).
• Successful completion and passing of YMCA swim test.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights and weekends.
• Completion of new associate training before scheduled to work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of all swimmers during shift and enforce pool rules.
• Monitor and adjust chemical readings as required.
• Maintain pool area and equipment and notify supervisor of repairs.
• Prepare the program area with equipment and return items after use.
• Engage and assist participants when not actively guarding.
• Promote a professional image and safe environment at all times.
• Communicate YMCA mission and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
