Job summary

Clarvida is seeking a Pre-Licensed Therapist to oversee administrative operations within the Catalyst Program in San Diego County. The role supports coordination of services, staff development, compliance, and recovery-oriented services while preparing clients for licensure and independent practice.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, AMFT/APCC/ACSW registration, and at least two years of clinical experience; strong communication and organizational skills are essential

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Registered as AMFT, APCC, or ACSW.
  • Minimum two years of experience with mental health clients (inpatient or outpatient).
  • Direct clinical and case management experience with knowledge of rehabilitation philosophy.
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance.

  • Provides crisis intervention consultation and other activities directly related to the interventions process.
  • Provides individual (adult and children), group and family therapy.
  • Provides occupational, education, and other information to enable individual to formulate realistic educational and vocational plans.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Participates in program development and staff in-services.
  • Participates in staff meetings as required.
  • Performs administrative functions consistent with the needs of the program.
  • Provide work-related supportive services; transport clients; use of personal car required.
  • Conducts counseling or therapeutic interviews to help individuals gain insight and plan action.
  • Documents in medical record according to requirements of company and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains HIPAA, ethics, and professional boundaries.
  • Follows up results of counseling to determine effectiveness.
  • May provide consultation/education to community organizations and schools.
  • May teach educational classes and provide on-site therapy in schools.
  • Monthly Productivity Requirement as determined by program.

About The Role

The Pre-Licensed Therapist-Catalyst Program is responsible for overseeing all aspects of administrative operations within the program. This role ensures effective coordination of services, supervises staff performance, manages workflows, and supports compliance with organizational, county, and regulatory standards. The position also plays a key leadership role in fostering staff development, maintaining program quality, and supporting recovery-oriented services.

Salary: $37–$39/hour

Responsibilities

  • Conducts counseling or therapeutic interviews to assist individual to gain insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan action reflecting interest, abilities, and needs
  • Documents in medical record according to requirements of company and regulatory agencies
  • Evaluates data to identify causes of problem of individuals and to determine advisability of counseling or may refer to other specialist or institutions
  • Maintain and ensures HIPAA, ethical standards and professional boundaries with all staff and clients
  • Follows up results of counseling to determine reliability and validity of treatment used
  • May be required to provide a minimum number of hours weekly, as specified by supervisor or director
  • May provide consultation/education to community service clubs, organizations, school districts, human service agencies, hospitals, and various county departments
  • May provide linkages to intensive interventions to develop skills aimed at mediating the effects of mental health crisis, trauma, or depression
  • May teach various educational classes (parenting, domestic violence, anger management, etc.) and provide on-site therapy in schools
  • Monthly Productivity Requirement as determined by program
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Registered as Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with mental health clients (inpatient or outpatient)
  • Direct clinical and case management experience with knowledge of rehabilitation philosophy
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsIntermediate computer proficiency
