Job summary

Spring ISD is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Aide at MAJOR ES in Houston to support a nurturing classroom for early learners. The role requires assisting the lead teacher, maintaining records, and helping with instructional activities for 187 days per year.

The position reports to the Principal and offers a nonexempt wage with a Para 1 grade. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and meet state qualification options; the district values effective communication and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must meet one of: Associate's degree or higher.
• Or completion of 48 college hours, or proven academic assessment.
• Educational Aide II Certificate preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with implementation of lesson plans.
• Maintain classroom equipment, student files and records.
• Assist in monitoring individual students, classroom and/or playground activities.
• Perform record keeping, scheduling, and copying.
• Assist in administering tests to evaluate students’ progress.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
