Job summary

St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks a PreKindergarten Aide for a part-time, 10-month instructional support role. Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The position supports literacy, math, and social studies under supervision, fostering a warm, inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates bring PK experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to diversity. A caring, collaborative approach with families and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Pre-kindergarten and understanding child development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with families.
• Knowledge of best instructional practices in literacy, math, and social studies.
• Preferred: experience with Responsive Classroom, Primary/Singapore Math, and/or Reggio Emilia.
• Commitment to developing cultural competence and differentiating instruction in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Support young learners in literacy, math, and social studies.
• Collaborate with teaching partners, colleagues, and families.
• Foster a nurturing, engaging classroom.
• Assist with observations, conferences, and Work Sampling/Documentation.
• Supervise outdoor play and assist with classroom needs including clothing changes and hygiene.
