Job summary

Pitt County Schools is seeking teachers who are working toward or possess a North Carolina Birth through Kindergarten license to begin August 14, 2026. Applicants may hold an initial, lateral entry, residency, or emergency B-K license, or a general educator license with provisional B-K or Pre-K/K credentials.

A BA/BS degree with eligibility for NC Residency B-K License is also acceptable, and licensure options from another state may be considered.

Job description

This position is available beginning August 14, 2026.

All teachers shall hold, or be working toward a North Carolina (NC) Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) Continuing License or B-K or Pre-K/K Add-on License issued by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Teachers working toward the required education and license shall meet one of the following requirements:

• a NC B-K Initial License;
• a NC Lateral Entry B-K License;
• a NC Residency B-K License;
• a NC Emergency B-K License as determined by the Early Educator Support, Licensure and Professional Development (EESLPD) Unit;
• another NC Educator's License and a Provisional B-K or Pre-K/K license;
• another state's license; or
• a BA/BS degree and be eligible for a NC Residency B-K License.
