Uncommon Schools seeks Uncommon Pre-K Teachers to cultivate a love for learning from the start. Teaching teams include a lead and an apprentice, focusing on CARE values and high expectations for literacy, math, science, and social studies through engaging activities.

You will analyze student data weekly with the director, differentiate instruction, and support social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic development while partnering with families and staff to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; NJ certification not prerequisite but must meet NJ certification eligibility requirements.
• 1-2 years experience in urban schools preferred.
• Academic expertise in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a lead/apprentice teaching team to create an engaging classroom environment.
• Teach literacy, mathematics, science and social studies with purposeful play.
• Collaborate with teaching team to facilitate centers and small group instruction.
• Meet weekly with Director to analyze student work and assessments.
• Differentiate instruction to meet all learners.
• Implement Uncommon's instructional model and monitor student goals.
• Use data sources to guide day-to-day instructional decisions.
• Support social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic development.
• Provide classroom coverage and build positive relationships with students.
• Partner with families to ensure resources for student learning.
