Job summary

Benson Elementary in Johnston County is seeking a Pre-K RECP Teacher Assistant to support instructional activities and student supervision at Benson ES. The role is full-time for 9 months, immediately starting, and reports to the Principal.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet Highly Qualified requirements by degree, coursework, or Pathways to TA, with the ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and work with children in a classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must meet Highly Qualified Status via one of: 2/4 year degree, 48 semester hours, or Pathways to TA + WorkKeys.
• Comfort with following detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Gives group instruction as prescribed by teacher; provides individualized instruction.
• Prepares visual aids and duplicates materials; assists with classroom setup.
• Monitors attendance, health records, and student data as required.
• Reports progress to teacher and supports discipline and behavior management.
• Assists in preparing and administering tests and supervision during testing.
