Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a teacher who will provide faith leadership and contribute to the school community. The role emphasizes planning effective instruction aligned to student needs and promoting learning through well-run classrooms.

You will maintain student discipline, supervise extracurricular activities, engage with students and parents positively, evaluate progress using various assessments, and report grades while pursuing ongoing professional growth

Job description

• The teacher will contribute to the community of faith of the school and provide faith leadership to students.
• The teacher plans for effective classroom instruction based on students’ needs.
• The teacher effectively implements teaching plans and conducts classes in a manner which promotes student learning.
• The teacher maintains student discipline so that learning goals can be accomplished, organizes classroom routines and schedules, and keeps adequate records.
• The teacher supervises students for extracurricular activities and moderates student activities assigned by the principal.
• The teacher interacts with students/parents in a positive manner.
• The teacher evaluates students according to school policies using standardized tests, teacher made tests, and special assignments or projects.
• The teacher prepares grades and meets with parents as necessary to report students’ progress.
• The teacher meets professional requirements and attempts professional growth. The teacher is ethical in dealing with parents, students, and other staff members.
• The teacher performs other tasks and undertakes other responsibilities necessary to provide quality education in the school as requested by the principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Illinois Teaching Certificate preferred-except Theology Teachers (Policy C-113 allows the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools to grant exceptions to the certification requirements).
