Job summary

International Leadership of Texas is seeking an instructional assistant to support teachers in delivering core instruction and managing classroom activities. You will work with students individually or in small groups, preparing materials and contributing to displays under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• 48+ Earned College Credits, Associates degree, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree at a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (Preferred)
• OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively
