Job summary

International Leadership of Texas is seeking an instructional assistant to support students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. You will help prepare, conduct, and manage classroom activities and provide targeted support to individuals or small groups.

The role requires basic education credentials (college credits or a diploma per ESSA) and the ability to work well with children, communicate clearly, and assist with reading, writing, and math.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Education/Certification:

• 48+ Earned College Credits, Associates degree, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree at a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (Preferred)
• OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience:

Some experience working with children

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Salary Information: Compensation will be commensurate with a candidate’s experience and education level

• - 48+College Credits/Associates Degree: $18,870-$21,930
• - Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree: $20,910-$23,970
