Qualifications

• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
• Must complete the Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons accommodating differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan and use instructional materials and equipment reflecting learning styles.
• Assess student learning and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Work with staff to set instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Establish communication with parents, students, principals and teachers.
