Qualifications

• One year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Use strategies to increase student performance on content-area assessments.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans and provide written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons accommodating individual student differences.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials to meet student needs.
• Communicate high performance expectations to students and recognize achievement.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Attend ARD meetings and discuss students’ strengths and needs.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, staff and community.
• Plan and supervise assignments for instructional assistants and volunteers.
• Incorporate technology to present content and support learning.
