Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED and 48 college credits or an associate's degree, or
• Pass Workkeys as mandated by the Alabama State Department of Education
• Meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment.
• Works with students in their classroom to reinforce skills and concepts introduced by the teacher.
• Monitors student progress.
• Attends weekly planning sessions with classroom teachers.
• Assists in completing activities, documents progress and notes comments.
• Turns in weekly plan sheets to administrators.
• Provides intervention for individual students.
• Provides assistance with small group instruction in the classroom.
• Assists in administering diagnostic and assessment tests.
• Attends scheduled workshops and training.
