Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Pre-K Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Beekman Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. The role supports children ages 5–12 with engaging activities, supervision, and care during morning and/or afternoon sessions.

The position follows the school calendar with shifts 6:30 AM–9:15 AM and 2:15 PM–6:30 PM, offering employer-paid childcare and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, per state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities per Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, fun environment and be a positive role model.
• Observe state guidelines and program policies.
• Support program operations, attendance, registration, and staffing.

PAY RATE:

$16.00 per hour

SCHEDULE:

Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 6:30 AM - 9:15 AM

Afternoon Program: 2:15 PM - 6:30 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Position Responsibilities

• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
